Women’s World Day of Prayer will be celebrated in Keighley and South Craven.

Services are being held locally and globally on March 7. The theme for this year’s Day of Prayer is Streams in the Desert, featuring prayers for Egypt.

A service will be led by the Reverend Dr Jonathan Pritchard at St Barnabas Church in Thwaites Brow. Speaker will be Billy Clayton. The service will start at 2pm, but the church will be open for singing from 1.40pm.

A South Craven district service is also being held at 2.30pm the same day at St Thomas’ Church in Sutton.

And Keighley Soroptimists and the Mothers of Eastwood group have organised a celebratory event at Eastwood School, Keighley, in the evening, which will feature speakers and entertainment.

Admission to the 6.30pm event is £5, with all profits going to Women’s Aid. Food will be available at a cost of £2 per platter.
