District residents wanting to ensure they can kick their old drug or alcohol habit for good have been offered help.

A free course operated by the group Keighley Choices is due to resume next month. Weekly sessions will be run in conjunction with the therapeutic service Stay Free Ltd, and will take place on Thursday afternoons.

A Keighley Choices spokesman said: “The course is highly recommended by those who’ve previously taken part.

“As well as helping them stay free of drugs and alcohol, it resulted in improved emotional well-being and better relationships with family and friends.

“The course starts on March 6. Participants will work in groups to consider their own patterns of behaviour, and to learn from the experience of others who have used the 12-step programme to become drug and alcohol free.”
