More than 20 adults and children from Keighley’s gipsy Roma community took part in a performing arts programme.

Sessions were held at Central Hall in Alice Street, Keighley, culminating with a show on Friday.

The programme was run by Laura Judge, of Bradford Family Learning Service, in conjunction with Horton Housing.

She said: “We rehearsed a musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s Snow Queen.

“The young people were really enthusiastic and quick to learn the songs, dances and scripts, while their parents were busy working alongside them sourcing props, costumes and scenery.

“Parents also had a chance to get involved with marketing the show, organising tickets and generally supporting their children to make sure the event was a success.

“We were delighted to work with Horton Housing on such a fun and worthwhile project, and look forward to providing more of these joint activities in the future.”
