A district councillor who previously revealed all for a Worth Valley good cause is preparing to make another eye-catching statement!

Coun Glen Miller has volunteered to be sponsored to wear a woman’s dress at a Haworth shop’s charity fashion show in aid of the Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice in Oxenhope.

“I’ve no idea what response it will get,” said the Tory group leader on Bradford Council. “Either it’ll go viral and loads of people donate, or it’ll be very lacklustre.

“But with the nature of the cause we’re supporting, I’d hope plenty of people do get on board.”

Coun Miller, one of three elected members to strip off for a nude calendar in 2011 to back Haworth Parish Church’s restoration appeal, made his offer to dress up in women’s clothing to fashion show organiser Nikki Carroll.

She said: “It’s a fantastic idea. We’re absolutely delighted he’s helping to raise money for something so dear to everybody.”

The show takes place in Haworth Community Centre at 7pm on April 7. Tickets, priced £6, are available from Nikki at her shop – Firth’s Boutique in Haworth’s Main Street.

People can donate at Firth’s or send cheques made out to Manorlands to Coun Miller at 51 The Chase, Shann Park, Keighley BD20 6HU.
