Efforts to find a new tenant for historic Haworth pub the Black Bull moved forward with an open day last week.

Enterprise Inns, which owns the Main Street pub, was pleased with the response from potential licensees.

Several people went along to look around the popular watering hole and chat with Enterprise Inns representatives.

A spokesman said: “A number of parties expressed an interest in running the Black Bull at our open day last week. “We are actively pursuing these leads, and aim for a smooth transition once a new publican is appointed.”

Thursday’s recruitment day followed concern among villagers that the Black Bull – the famous old haunt of Branwell Brontë – could close if a new tenant was not found.
