Keighley’s Twitter toddlers saddled up to help raise more than £22,000 for Sport Relief last weekend.

Two-year-old Gabriel and sister Willow, one, joined parents Michelle and David Crowther for the Team Honk national relay.

The children rode up Main Street in Haworth on their tiny trikes as part of the Crowther clan’s leg of the 300-mile fundraising relay.

Michelle co-ordinates the @KeighleyPeople Twitter feed, as well as running Keighley’s Clandestine Cake Club and writing a monthly Keighley News baking column.

Michelle, along with 150 other tweeters, bloggers and Facebookers, was helping transport a baton around the country.

The Crowthers followed the planned Tour de France route by cycle and car as they carried the baton from Riddlesden to Huddersfield at the weekend.

Former Oakworth woman, Kirsty Smith, carried the baton from Ilkley to Silsden while wearing her mother’s Morris dancing costume.

Michelle said: “We wanted them to go up and down Main Street – Willow fell off quite a few times and was caked in mud!”
