Nursery and reception children at Parkwood Primary School in Keighley rose to the challenge when “Baker Mike” visited.
Master baker Mike Armstrong showed the youngsters how to make animal-shaped bread rolls and hot-cross buns.
And the 50-or-so pupils from the early years unit later that week had a go at making their own rolls, using ingredients left by Mr Armstrong – who works for Sainsbury’s and writes a regular baking column for The Ticket in the Keighley News.
Teacher Rachel Taylor said: “Mike showed the children how to make bread rolls in the form of hedgehogs and mice and they had the chance to feel the ingredients.
“They loved it and were really interested, asking lots of questions.”
