People still have time to support Worth Valley councillor Glen Miller, who intends to strut his stuff in a women’s frock at a fashion show for Manorlands next week.

Coun Miller volunteered last month to wear a women’s dress at the Firths Boutique show, which takes place on Monday. His only condition was that people reward his efforts by donating towards the hospice.

His bold idea was welcomed by fashion show organiser Nikki Carroll. She said the councillor’s plans have already attracted more than £1,000 worth of pledged sponsorship cash.

The fashion show will take place in Haworth Community Centre, with doors opening at 7pm and the show beginning at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 and available from Nikki at Firths, in Haworth’s Main Street. People will be able to pay on the door on the night.

To sponsor Coun Miller, people can donate at Firths, or send cheques made out to Manorlands to Coun Miller at 51 The Chase, Shann Park, Keighley BD20 6HU. They can also visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ GlenMiller1 to donate online.
