A retrospective application for an agricultural building at an Oxenhope farm has been recommended for refusal.

Members of Oxenhope Parish Council expressed opposition to the shed at Marsh Top Farm, Marsh Lane.

They asked for the application to be decided by Keighley & Shipley Area Planning Panel.

The applicant has asked to be allowed to retain the property, made of concrete blocks and green corrugated metal sheeting.

The farm, which keeps livestock and sells meat locally, says the shed is required to store animal feed. However, Coun Derrick Hopkinson, commenting at a parish council meeting last Wednesday, said: “I think it’s totally unsuitable in that position.

“It’s very close to houses in Marsh Lane and there’s a strong likelihood of nuisance being caused to neighbours.”
