Pupils and their families responded creatively and imaginatively to a school Easter egg decoration contest.
Members of Ingrow Primary School’s council arranged the competition, in which they challenged their fellow pupils to send in their own decorated eggs.
More than 100 entries were submitted in time for last Thursday.
Assistant head teacher Lauren Murphy said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response.
“We’ve done this before but we haven’t had so many entries in the past.
“I think the school council was only expecting to receive decorated hard-boiled eggs, but many families took the initiative to do something different.
“Some families have made large papier mache eggs and we’ve had biscuits baked into egg shapes.
“We’ve had eggs decorated to look like super heroes, characters from The Simpsons or representing the Easter story. There is even one egg made to look like a teacher!”
