The UK premiere of short film Parakeets was the highlight of a pop-up cinema in Keighley.
Organisers of the town’s RATMA film festival hosted last weekend’s event in the Airedale Shopping Centre.
The shopping centre provided an empty unit to make a temporary cinema using a laptop, projector, LED lighting and red ropes.
The cinema was created to promote this year’s RATMA – the River Aire Ten-Minute Amateur film festival – which is being held on April 26.
Around 60 short films from across the world will be screened at the Keighley Campus of Leeds City College, followed by an awards evening at Keighley Picture House.
Festival organiser Marcus Gregg said the pop-up cinema was an excellent experience.
He said: “We showed films from last year’s festival along with some sneak previews of this year’s offerings. RATMA 2014 has an outstanding collection of films which will completely blow people away.
Steve Seymour, manager of the Airedale Shopping Centre, said: “We are pleased to support what is an imaginative and truly international film festival and to raise money for a good local cause at the same time.”
Admission to RATMA is by donation, with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK. Visit ratmaff.weebly.com for further information.
