A 24-year-old woman who recklessly threw a pint glass hitting her friend in the face has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment suspended for 12 months.
Laura Jalil left Adele Greenwood scarred for life in the incident outside Muldoons pub in North Street, Keighley, at 10.30pm on January 10.
Jalil, of Perry Close, Ingrow, had been drinking at a funeral and told police she did not mean to hit Miss Greenwood.
She pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm on the basis that it was a reckless act.
Prosecutor Martin Sharpe told Bradford Crown Court yesterday that the two women went outside the pub for a cigarette while enjoying a night out together.
A scuffle broke out among some men and the women tried to calm things down.
Mr Sharpe said Jalil then “launched” her glass, striking her friend above the left eyebrow. She ran up to apologise but Miss Greenwood told her to go away.
