An appropriately-named beer celebrating the Tour de France in Yorkshire has been produced by a Cross Hills Brewery.

Naylor’s at Midland Mills in Station Road has brewed Saddle Sore, which has been created using French hops.

The limited edition premium blonde ale was released three weeks ago. It is currently being sold in shops in bottled form, though it should be available on draught in pubs from mid-June.

Brewery director, Stephen Naylor, said: “It’s a great blonde beer to enjoy, hopefully while watching the Tour, which will be passing quite close to us.

“It’s been received really well. The initial feedback has been excellent, and several of the shops selling it have already asked to be restocked three times.”
