There’s no mystery about who’s been raising money for the Callum Ingham appeal.

It was a bunch of Cluedo characters – as well as 10-year-old Phoebe Crawford... in the salon... with the hair clippers!

The two very different events have between them raised thousands of pounds for eight-year-old Callum, who has an aggressive form of childhood cancer.

Callum, of Parkwood Rise in Keighley, has a serious illness called neuroblastoma, which may require costly treatment abroad.

The Big Soup Theatre Company this month performed a stage show based on the murder-mystery game Cluedo.

The group, whose actors have learning disabilities, has so far raised £2,210 for Callum through a series of events.

These included a performance last month by Elvis Presley tribute act Idle Elvis. Big Soup is now planning a concert at its theatre in Springfield Mills, Oakworth Road, on Wednesda,y featuring the Thornton Singers.

The Spring Into Summer concert will begin at 7pm and tickets costing £3 are available by e-mailing thebigsouptheatregroup@bt-connect.com or call 01535 680155.

Meanwhile, Phoebe, who lives in Keighley, has raised at least £300 for Callum by having 12 inches of her hair cut off.

Hairdresser Claire Exley lopped Phoebe’s locks on Saturday at the Duval and Co salon in Silsden.

Phoebe’s stepmother, Pauline Crawford, said: “Phoebe was very nervous about getting a haircut as she couldn’t remember it not being long but she was determined to do it for Callum.

“Afterwards she said she was still a little shocked but did love her new short hair. Quite a number of her family came to watch. When Phoebe’s hair was cut, everyone in the salon cheered.”

Phoebe’s hair was cut into two pig-tails, which will be used to make a wig for another child fighting cancer.
