A Haworth trader is getting into the Grand Depart spirit by giving a new lease of life to an old bicycle.
Jill Ross, who owns Daisy Days and Cobbles and Clay in Main Street, had the idea of decorating the cycle to turn it into an attractively appropriate window display. She is planning to let children get involved with covering the bike in brightly coloured paper.
The job has already been started off by Lisa Caruana-Clark, above, who works in Daisy Days.
Mrs Ross, who lives in Oxenhope, said: “It’s just an old bike we had that was taking up space in the cellar.
“We’re going to cover it with this special paper, which is very fine and brightly coloured, but is also quite strong.
“Lisa has started work on it, just to see if it will look good, and it does. We’ll be wanting to have youngsters to help finish decorating it, and we’ll put it in the window of Daisy Days once it’s complete.”
