An acclaimed orchestra is performing at Glusburn this weekend as part of a 100-day arts and culture festival leading up to the Tour de France.
Skipton Building Society Camerata is appearing at Glusburn Institute on Saturday with a programme showcasing three pieces – Elgar’s Serenade For Strings, Finzi’s Dies Natalis and Dvorak’s Serenade For Strings.
And the orchestra will be joined for the first time by Paula Sides, English Touring Opera’s multi award-winning soprano, from Cookeville in Tennessee.
Ben Crick, Skipton Building Society Camerata’s artistic director, said: “As a keen cyclist, I’m delighted the camerata can be part of the arts festival associated with the great race.
“And it’s also marvellous to be able to introduce Paula Sides, a world-class soprano with an impressive portfolio of credits, to our loyal audience.”
