An annual charity event in South Craven has raised £2,385 for a pair of good causes.

The money from the Parkas and Leathers 4 Charity day will go towards Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Soldiers Off The Street.

Scooter riders and motorcyclists from three clubs took to the road on Sunday. The convoy gathered in Sutton, then travelled through Steeton, Silsden and Skipton, before heading back to Sutton for live music and refreshments.

Participants from the Rapscallions Scooter Club, Girder Fork and Classic Motor Cycle Club shrugged off bad weather to make the occasion a success.

Organiser, Steve Emmett, said: “The weather was awful, but we still had 130 bikes and scooters braving the rain for our chosen charities.

“I’d like to thank everybody who was involved, and all our volunteers and sponsors, for their dedication and hard work to make the day possible. And a big thank you to all our bands that played at the Bay Horse pub, as they donated their time and talent for free.”

Bands performing were Howlin’ Johnny and the 59 Sound, The Big Bang and The Ramblers.
