A CD put together by South Craven School pupils is being sold to raise cash for Airedale Hospital’s neo natal ward.
The Year 8 Songwriters' Showcase CD is a compilation of work that has grown out of a school song-writing project. Each CD is being sold for £5.
A spokesman for the Cross Hills school said: “Music teacher Tim Rossell got the year eight pupils to look at some different songs to see how they were structured, what sort of chord sequences were used and how the lyrics were written to fit in.
“Working in groups, the pupils then composed their own songs, starting with the words and moving onto add the music.
“The best of these groups were invited to perform in a special concert earlier this year for parents and friends, and from this came the suggestion to make a CD to sell for charity.”
