CARERS had a relaxing time this week as their social group settled into a new venue.

The Time For Me group moved from Keighley to the Community Hub in Steeton during national Carers Week.

They marked the occasion with a special session led by a trained relaxation tutor from Carers Resource.

Carers Resource, which supports carers across Bradford district, set up Time For Me in July last year and provides ongoing help.

Carolyne Coyle, the organisation’s inclusion coordinator, said the group was attended by both carers and the people that they cared for.

She said: “They can relax, learn new skills, learn more about each other and make new friends.

“People get a break from their caring responsibilities, while joining in activities with those they care for. There are no barriers between them.”

Activities have included bulb planting, making items for Christmas, and arts and crafts.

The group, which originally met at Keighley Healthy Living, moved to Steeton because several members live in the village, and others have access to transport.

Time For Me meets on Tuesday mornings once a month at the Hub on Skipton Road, Steeton.
