A HUGLEY popular online attractions review website has singled out Keighley's Civic Centre and Police Museum for praise.

Trip Advisor awarded the North Street-based premises a certificate of excellence. This recognises that the Keighley Town Council-run property has consistently earned "outstanding" feedback from visitors over the past year.

Keighley town mayor, Councillor Graham Mitchell, responded: "For some time we've been aware, from the comments written by the public in our visitors’ book, that the Police Museum provides an interesting, exciting and informative experience for visitors.

"But when we as the town council say that, some of our local critics tend to disbelieve us, commenting, ‘Well, they would say that, wouldn’t they?’

"So to have a wholly independent organisation assess us on the basis of what the public really does think about us, is an extremely welcome compliment.

“I pay tribute to Councillor Peter Corkindale and the members of the civic centre committee, together with the hard-working museum officer, council staff and volunteers, whose efforts in developing and operating the Police Museum have earned us these very welcome accolades from Trip Advisor travellers.”
