A KEIGHLEY company creating a promotional video to attract more visitors to the district is appealing for people to submit selfies.

And the best images will be included in the finished footage, being produced by Twenty Twenty Films.

The plea follows a request earlier this year for people to supply photos of their favourite spots in the area, for use in the same film.

Behind the venture is Visit Bradford, the district's destination marketing office.

Sarah Howsen, senior tourism development officer, said: "We’ve been really impressed by the number of people taking the time to send us pictures of their favourite spots, but to make this video work we need more.

"Most people have heard of the ‘selfie’, where you take a picture of yourself with some kind of background, and that’s what we want to see now."

Dawn Pearson, customer services director at Twenty Twenty Films, said: "It’s been great seeing all the beautiful pictures that have been sent in so far, but because we want this film to be about local people recommending the sights and sounds of the district to potential visitors, we want to see real people having real fun at all the different landmarks and attractions that people are recommending."

When complete, the video will be shared on the Visit Bradford website – visitbradford.com – and across social media channels.

Selfies should be e-mailed to bradfordphotographs@gmail. com or tweeted using the hashtag #BradfordPics.

The deadline for submissions is September 5.
