NHS colleagues have spruced up the grounds at Manorlands.

A team from Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) armed itself with spades, gardening gloves and paint brushes to tidy the surroundings of the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Sue Owlett, head of support services at Manorlands, said: “We are delighted they chose to come and help us — they have made a huge difference.

"They worked extremely hard and we are hoping the weather stays nice so we can all enjoy the garden.”

Ash Alom, project manager for the CCG’s integrated care for adults, said: “We are a small team and we wanted to work together on a project outside the office.

"Everyone agreed it was a really enjoyable afternoon.”

The CCG workers also carried out a similar project at Martin House children's hospice, Boston Spa.

“We all felt it was a privilege to give back to such amazing charities," said Alison Needham, CCG head of finance and contracting.
