Young children have enjoyed the latest annual summer holiday club staged by a pair of Keighley churches.

Exley Head Methodist Church and Trinity Church held the five morning sessions for 24 five to 11-year-olds from August 18 to 22. The club was run by volunteers from both churches.

Organiser Linda Cotton, a member of Trinity Church, said: "The children had a brilliant time, enjoying crafts, songs, games drama and stories based on Matthew's Gospel.

"The aim was to demonstrate to the children by word and action that God's love for them is vast, and above all for them to have fun!

"Some children said this was the best holiday club ever."

She added that the club had been running for at least six to eight years, and caters for children from the local area each summer.

"The number of children is about right, because we couldn't accommodate anymore," she said. "This summer has gone very well, the kids have loved it, and it's been a good experience for everyone involved."
