A South Craven tennis club has raised more than £450 for Manorlands Hospice.

The cash was raised through Cross Hills Tennis Club's annual charity fundraising day, which was held at the end of last month.

The day was organised by ladies' team captain Gilly Milnes. It included a tennis tournament, a barbecue lunch, a balloon raffle and a musical interlude and sing-a-long provided by club member Jonathan Crossley, who is a Silsden school teacher. The club's fundraiser event is held annually in memory of Lyn Ferguson, a member of the club, who died in 2009.

"It was a great day," said club chairman Glenn Frost. "The weather was kind and more than 40 members and friends attended."
