THE team due to distribute and pick up collection boxes for this year's Keighley Poppy Appeal are calling for more volunteers to help them out.
Keighley poppy appeal organiser Tommy Thompson said he was looking for people, ideally drivers, who can distribute the boxes from the end of September to mid October and collect them from mid November to the end of November.
"Even two hours of someone's time would be much appreciated," he said. "It's the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War this year, and it would be great if we could manage the amount we raised last year.
"In 2013 we raised over £36,000 in Keighley, and I'm proud of that."
He said he and the small number of volunteers currently available need to distribute and pick up 250 collection boxes at locations such as shops, pubs and clubs.
Anyone interested in helping Mr Thompson and his colleagues should call 0788 2458849 or Jackie McGinnis on 07972 727269.
