MANORLANDS volunteers have been thanked for their efforts – by the Prime Minister himself.
Ten people associated with the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice attended a reception at 10 Downing Street.
They met David Cameron, who praised people's voluntary work.
The contingent had travelled to London at the invitation of Keighley MP Kris Hopkins, who gave the group a tour of the Commons before accompanying it to No 10.
Manorlands-based Sue Ryder fundraiser, Andrew Wood, said: "This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those who took part and several rang us afterwards to say how much they'd enjoyed the experience.
"The volunteers represented many different aspects of our work – for example there were a couple of people from the Sue Ryder shop at Cavendish Street in Keighley, some from our health care side and from the office, and our 'events squad' which is invaluable helping out at activities.
"We simply couldn't operate without all our volunteers and this tribute was thoroughly deserved.
"I'd also like to thank Kris for making the trip possible."
