YOUNG people from Keighley are being urged to have their say on what activities and support should be available to them in the future.

Bradford Council and partner organisations are developing a 'youth offer', with youngsters themselves at the heart of the scheme.

Activities will be provided across Bradford district partly through the council but also by voluntary, community and faith sectors.

Now a consultation has been launched to discover what young people aged 13 to 19, and 11-to-25-year-olds with additional needs, and interested adults feel should be included.

Independent organisation People Dialogue and Change has been commissioned by the council to advise on the development of the youth offer.

Coun Ralph Berry, the council's portfolio holder for children’s services, said: "It’s so important that we listen to young people to find out what they need.

"This is why the council has commissioned independent advisors to help us do this and to help young people lead this review.

"We want everyone in the district who works with youngsters to be involved so that we can be sure we deliver the services, support and activities that will make a difference to their lives."

James Felton, from the young people’s steering group, said: "The review is really important because it’s about shaping what is available for us in the future.

"We want support and activities that will be relevant to us, so it’s vital that as many young people as possible have their say .”
