TWO women who will participate in a trek in Nepal to raise cash for Manorlands have collected another £700 for the cause.

The money was generated by a pop-up restaurant hosted by Laycock Village Hall. The event was organised by Jane Arnold and Maggie Higson, who will take part in the Nepal trek this November.

The temporary restaurant served a three-course dinner to 38 people.

Keighley's Morrisons supermarket fundraising team, led by Nicola Greenwood, supplied the food for the meal. Raffle prizes were provided by the Grouse Inn at Oakworth, Shimla Spice, Cafe Nico of Ilkley, The Entertainer in Leeds and The Flower Shop, Keighley.

Jane said: "It was a community event and a chance for people to get together and to support Manorlands hospice.

"We are very grateful to the local businesses which contributed to the success of the evening. We would also like to thank all our family and friends for their encouragement, with a special thank you to the cook Ann Gillibrand and her family for the wonderful menu and their service on the night."

She and Maggie have so far raised a combined total of £5,150 for Manorlands, and are hoping to reach a target of £6,000 before the trek.
