POLICE have renewed appeals for information following a crash near Keighley which claimed the life of a 24-year-old motorcyclist.

Brett Sinclair Hames was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with serious head injuries after the accident, and died a short time later.

His family has paid tribute to him and is backing the fresh police plea for witnesses to the crash, which happened in Pole Road – between Laycock and Cowling – at 2pm on December 5.

Mr Hames' partner, Rebecca Gregory, said: "I urge anyone who was travelling along Pole Road or in the immediate area on that Friday afternoon to please contact the police.

"We are absolutely devastated by Brett's death and at the very least need to find out what caused the crash.

"Brett truly was such an amazing person, the most perfect fiance, son, brother and friend. He had a huge heart so full of love and touched everyone's lives with such light and happiness.

"He was a great adventurer and grabbed life with both hands. His life contained nothing but love and happiness.

"Brett's entire family and his friends are so utterly heartbroken at this tragic loss. He is and will be forever desperately missed."

Police say they particularly want to speak to the drivers of a lorry and a Luton van who stopped at the scene of the crash.

Officers are still trying to establish the exact circumstances of the incident in which Mr Hames, from Foulridge near Colne, died.

Traffic Constable Dave Seavers said: "Unfortunately no-one has come forward following an initial appeal for witnesses and we urgently need to speak to anyone who was travelling along Pole Road in either direction.

"Even if you did not witness the actual collision, we still need to speak to you as you could have important information which may help our investigation.

"We know that the driver of a lorry and a Luton van stopped at the scene. I need to speak to these drivers, even if they did not actually witness the crash – they could still provide vital information."
