WORTH Valley Young Farmers Club swept the board by winning all five trophies in a recent public speaking competition Skipton.

A record 33 members spoke in six tournaments against five other clubs during the Craven district Young Farmers Club contest in Skipton.

They achieved the feat for only the second time in the club's 72-year history.

All who finished first and second will progress to the Yorkshire finals in Harrogate later this month, hoping to qualify for the Northern area and national finals.

Worth Valley club chairman Dave Johnson said: "Public speaking is a great skill for our members to learn and we are proud that our club is one of the best in the country.”
