KEIGHLEY MP Kris Hopkins’s general election leaflets are on the road to the rubbish tip!

Dozens of the Conservative candidate’s campaign leaflets were dumped in the Picture House cinema’s wheelie bin.

The leaflets, with the slogan “let’s start on the road to a stronger economy”, were stolen from outside the next-door Conservative Party headquarters on North Street.

Around 100 of the “My Plan” leaflets had been placed with a pop-up publicity board outside Churchill House.

When Mr Hopkins and his team returned from campaigning they discovered the board about 100 yards further along the road and the leaflets missing.

He said: “Since my early days as a local councillor in Worth Valley, I have placed anti-littering high up my list of personal priorities.

“I am therefore pleased that whoever chose to take my board for a walk had the good sense to dispose responsibly of my leaflets.

“A lout, maybe, but not a litter lout which I must commend."
