THE Keighley News has been highly commended in a coveted awards scheme for the second year running.
Your favourite weekly read received the accolade in the Society of Editors' Regional Press Awards.
The KN was among just six titles from across Britain to be shortlisted in the Weekly Newspaper of the Year category, for those with circulations below 20,000.
Winners were announced at a glittering ceremony on Friday at the Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, London, hosted by broadcaster Nick Ferrari.
Judges paid particular tribute to the KN's successful campaign to raise £1 million so Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands could continue to provide its invaluable care.
Editor Richard Parker said: "It was a tremendous honour in itself to be shortlisted, but to be highly commended – for the second year running – was a huge source of pride.
"We were up against some extremely tough competition. The accolade is just reward for the dedication and commitment of the whole team, including all those who contribute to our columns on a regular basis.
"We'd also like to thank our loyal readers. It's reward enough to be serving such a fantastic community as this."
