EMILY Davis is this year's East Morton Gala Queen.

The 14-year-old Bingley Grammar School pupil will lead the procession through the village on July 12.

She will be crowned at 1pm when the parade arrives at the gala field.

Storybook characters is the theme for this year's event and prizes will be awarded for the best group and individual.

There will be a competition for the best fancy-dressed baby, with categories for under 12 months and 12 to 24 months.

And there is a dog contest, for the top turned out and the one with the waggiest tail.

Other attractions will include arena entertainment, stalls and games and the event will culminate with children's races and the traditional egg-throwing competition.

Profits will go to village organisations and this year's designated charity, the White Knights, a voluntary blood courier service.
