A BRIDE from Haworth has chosen a rather unusual means of transport to get to her wedding – one of Transdev Keighley's regular buses to Stanbury!

Lucy Rushworth, 39, married Stefan Kopinski, 41, at St Gabriel's Church in Stanbury on Friday afternoon.

She and her father, Colin, reached the church by picking up the 664 service near Dyke Farm in Sun Lane, almost half way between Stanbury and Haworth.

Mr Kopinski stressed this was a normal, regular service, which had not altered its time or route for the wedding.

"We'd made every effort to make the occasion a little bit different and informal," he explained. "It worked perfectly, and there was a fantastic atmosphere."

A spokesman for Transdev Keighley said: "It's not every day we pick a bride up on Brontebus and take her to the church at Stanbury. Congratulations to the happy couple on their big day."

The couple live in Ingrow, though Mrs Kopinski is originally from Haworth. Mrs Kopinski works in catering, and Mr Kopinski is an illustrator.

Mr Kopinski reached St Gabriel's in more orthodox fashion. He was picked up outside Haworth's Fleece Pub by a vintage bus from Keighley Bus Museum.
