AN Olympic showjumper is heading to Haworth.
The Haworth, Oxenhope and District Bridleways Group is staging an evening with Geoff Billington on October 20.
Mr Billington has been a leading figure on the showjumping circuit for over 30 years, winning European and world championship bronze medals and representing Britain at the Olympics in Atlanta and Sydney.
The event is at the Old White Lion, Main Street, at 8pm.
Tickets are £6 for members and £12 for non-members. They can be obtained from committee members, group meetings, from Pat Greenwood on 07703 597151 or 01535 644095 or from Linton Greenwood & Co, Cross Roads.
The group is holding its annual horse show at the Manorlands showfield, Haworth Road, Cullingworth, at 10am on Monday (Aug 31). For schedules and to enter contact Jenny Anderson on 07581 021499.
Next meeting of the group is at the Old White Lion on September 22, when the speaker will be from the horse charity Hope Pastures. Juniors meet at 6.45pm and seniors at 8pm.
The last meeting took the form of a social night with photo quiz.
