CONONLEY Women's Institute has been very active in the past month.
After coming second in the first-ever Cononley Bowls Championship, members held special events to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the WI.
On the day itself, they visited Stepping Stones Nursery, in the village institute, to make sure the youngest members of the community got to know about the WI.
Members took along Krispies and juice, sang songs, including Happy Birthday, and helped the children make handprints which were then cut and pasted into a montage on a WI motif.
And, the following Saturday, the WI staged an exhibition at the institute, featuring a display of clothes, photographs and memorabilia, a memory book for visitors to fill in and 100 activities to examine.
Two of the original founding members were present.
