THE official start of Christmas in Haworth will be celebrated by people of all ages this weekend. (Nov 28 and 29)
A pair of parades will be taking place in the centre of the village on both Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of atmospheric musical entertainment on both days.
Saturday is fairy day with a fairy procession starting at 2pm at the bottom of Main Street accompanied by a band and choir. Parents and carers are welcome to bring their children along.
The main Scroggling the Holly event takes place on Sunday.
This year's Holly Princesses will travel up Main Street flanked by Father Christmas, ushers and sweeps. This will be followed by the crowning of the Holly Queen on the steps of Haworth Parish Church.
The Scroggling the Holly parade will begin at the bottom of Main Street at 2.30pm.
Visitors to the village this weekend are also promised Morris Dancing performances and a craft fair at the Old School Room, in Church Street.
