SENIOR pupils from South Craven represented their school at this year's Armistice Day event in their village.
The students from South Craven School sixth form laid a wreath at the cenotaph in Cross Hills.
The wreath laying was led by Ben Farrar and Kate Barton, who were accompanied by fellow sixth-formers Sam Smith, Luke Whitehead, Matthew Howarth, Alyx Howarth, Madi Omatseone and Emily McGonigle.
A spokesman for their school said: "This was in commemoration of those who gave their lives in service of their country in the hundred years since the beginning of World War One.
"The card on the school's wreath reads: 'In memory of those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice, from all at South Craven School.'
"Our students observed a two-minute silence at the cenotaph, along with the remaining students present as bells rang throughout the school to mark the beginning and end of the silence.
"Students at South Craven also dedicated poppies to those who fought in the wars by placing them in wreaths installed by a separate, permanent war memorial within our school grounds."
