THE year six boys' football team at Kildwick School won the area finals of a competition held at Sandylands, Skipton, on Friday.

The youngsters played six matches and didn't lose a single game!

The team received their medals from members of the British Legion, who reminded the competitors of the football match played in no-man's land on the first Christmas day of World War One.

The team will go forward to represent Craven in the next round, which will be held in York in the new year.

Clare Smurthwaite, the boys' teacher, said that she was delighted with their performance and fitness levels.
