MANORLANDS has received a £9,000-plus boost following the winding-up of a fund.
The Oakworth Sick Poor Fund, founded in 1953, closed last November after the resignation of the chairman and secretary/treasurer.
And it was decided the £9,301 left in the kitty should be given to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
The fund had distributed money annually from the Oakworth District Nursing Association to a recipient in the former urban district.
Senior Manorlands fundraiser Hayley Ibbotson said: "As the committee ceases its work after so many years supporting the people of Oakworth, it's a fitting legacy that its final gift to Manorlands will help to continue providing support to people living in the community.
"I'd like to thank the Oakworth Sick Poor Fund for its wonderful donation."
