A CULLINGWORTH businessman helped boost funds for terminally-ill children in a global charity extravaganza.

Andrew Vaux, director of ARVA PR & Events, joined clients from property firm Keller Williams for the company’s annual charity event.

Every year, the firm's agents take part in RED Day – 'Renew Energise Donate' – which involves more than 800 offices across the globe raising funds for local charities.

Mr Vaux was recently appointed to help manage public relations for the company across Yorkshire.

He visited the firm's county base, where activities included agents hitting the phones to secure donations from local companies and charity collections at a number of locations.

He and his colleagues raised more than £600, with pledges still coming in. They hope to boost the funds further by taking part in a charity boat race later in the summer.

All the money will go to Levi’s Star – a charity that supports children with brain tumours and their families throughout Yorkshire.

Mr Vaux said: “Over the years, I’ve always done a lot of work to support charities, including Manorlands, Macmillan Cancer Support and Christian Aid.

"When I heard RED Day 2016 was being organised, I was delighted to step forward and help.”
