A KEIGHLEY events company has taken to the road to celebrate a milestone.

And Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands, which is being supported by the firm, is among the stop-off points.

Staff from Simply Better Events are travelling the region in a converted vintage Citroen H van, visiting clients as part of a 15th-anniversary tour.

Managing director, Rob Woodhead, said: "The company would not be where it is today without our clients, so we wanted to involve them in our birthday celebrations.

"We appreciate that people have busy schedules so we wouldn't expect them to take too much time away from their work to see us, which led to the idea of all of us going to visit them!"

The refurbished vehicle is covering 231 miles over five days, the same distance the team plans to cover on foot this summer to raise money for Manorlands.

Items bought for the road trip will be auctioned to boost funds.

Hayley Ibbotson, senior fundraiser at the hospice, said: "It's great that Simply Better Events has chosen to support us and I love its idea to raise funds by covering the same distance on foot and in the van.

"It's nice that the whole team will be involved in supporting the hospice with this unique challenge, as we rely on voluntary donations to continue our work providing incredible care in the community."
