KEIGHLEY'S very own boxer Muhammad Ali has officially opened a new business in North Street.

Mr Ali cut the ribbon on July 10 to launch The Travel Centre, which has been set up by his uncle, Razaq Hussain.

Mr Hussain said the family business already has branches in Bradford and Birmingham, but this is its first outlet in Keighley.

He said despite the fact many people now book trips online, there is still a place for the more "old-fashioned", face-to-face approach offered by travel agents.

"There is a demand for this because a lot of people still find it a hassle to search for deals and to book online," he added.

"I am slightly concerned about the effect of Brexit, but I think enough people are going to continue wanting to travel and to get away from the weather here.

"As well as catering for people wanting to travel to Pakistan and Bangladesh, we want to capture the European market. We'll be offering deals to Spain and other European destinations."

Mr Hussain, who owns Kashmir Food Store in Lawkholme, said the new venture in North Street will also be offering prestige car hire services.
