KEIGHLEY supermarket customers will be introduced to the latest charity the business has chosen to carry out fundraising for.

The town's Sainsbury's branch will stage a joint event with Haworth Riding for the Disabled (RDA) for most of the day this Saturday (August 27).

Haworth RDA is its chosen charity of the year for 2016/17.

The group, which has stables in Vale Mill Lane, Cross Roads, was picked following a vote by customers and store staff in early summer of this year.

Nicola Di Cristofaro, PR ambassador and charity co-ordinator for Sainsbury's Keighley, said: "We are introducing our new charity appeal to customers with a tombola and also a visit from 'Bonnie' the Shetland pony.

"This is the first time we've had Haworth RDA as our charity of the year.

"We now have collection buckets for them at our tills and colleagues will be doing book sales, cake bake sales and quiz nights.

"The store will also be donating raffle prizes to the charity."
