GRANTS of up to £2,000 can now be applied for from Bingley Town Council – whose area includes Crossflatts – by voluntary and community groups.
The new scheme has been set up with the aim of supporting projects which strengthen the community.
“We have a precept for local residents and felt it necessary to quickly give something back,” said town council chairman, Councillor Terry Brown.
“The total pot is £13,000, ten per cent of the total precept, and we want people to take small grants so we can spread it around the whole parish and help everyone a bit.”
Grant applications will be decided three times per year – in June, October and February – and applications should be received by the town clerk no later than the first day of the month in which they are to be considered.
For full details on how to apply, e-mail town clerk Ruth Batterley at townclerk@bingleytowncouncil.gov.uk or call 07703 188660.
