AIREDALE NHS Foundation Trust has received an £8,000 grant.

The organisation is among six Yorkshire NHS trusts to share in a £48,000 handout from Bradford-based cash plan provider, Sovereign Health Care.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Centre for Mental Health at Airedale Hospital, is also among the recipients.

Russ Piper, chief executive of Sovereign Health Care, said: "The trusts are essential in delivering much-needed care across Yorkshire and we're delighted to provide these useful grants."

Over the past seven years, Sovereign has donated more than £4 million to good causes.
