HARDEN Parish Council has won a £1,669 grant from the Big Lottery to buy a defibrillator.
The council had successfully applied to the lottery’s long-running Awards for All scheme so the life-saving equipment could be installed in the village.
The council recently agreed to go ahead with ordering the defibrillator and its storage cabinet through the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
The defibrillator will be installed at Harden Pharmacy.
Harden councillors set expenditure budget for next year of £19,525, which would mean a precept of £20 a year on a band D property.
During the same meeting, Harden councillors heard that the cost of providing flowerbeds in the village would be about £3,900, including design, planting and buying plants.
They heard that this was the equivalent of two years expenditure on summer and winter planting, based on previous costs, and would be cost-effective in the long-term.
