HAWORTH Cricket Club has been granted planning permission by Bradford Council for work on its scorers’ hut.
The hut is being enlarged for the installation of a new electronic scoreboard and to allow storage room for the club’s wicket mower, sit-on mower and roller.
The current wooden hut has fallen into disrepair, needing to be waterproofed every year to protect against the elements, and some of the structure needs to be replaced.
The new £2,000 digital scoreboard will bring Haworth CC in line with other teams in the league, and also make the work of scorers simpler.
Roller shutters will be installed over the scoreboard and the access to the machine storage to improve security.
They will both be painted brown to be in keeping with the existing score hut and surrounding areas.
