A BABY was taken to hospital after with suspected smoke inhalation after a tea light caused damage in a Keighley bathroom last night.

The seven-week-old child was taken to Airedale Hospital as a precaution after firefighters attended the incident in Hard Ings Road.

Watch commander Andy Quinn, from Keighley Fire Station, said a tea light left on the side of the bath had made a bath panel smoulder.

He said: “There was no real fire, but the baby was in the bedroom next to the bathroom.”

Parents were alerted by their smoke alarm at about 1.40am.
