A LONG Lee woman will lead a sponsored fundraising Zumbathon at a Keighley school to enable sick and elderly local people make the pilgrimage to Lourdes.

Angela Fish, a nursery teacher and fitness instructor, will stage the event on Saturday March 18 in aid of the Massabielle group, which helps people who are too frail to make the journey to this holy destination alone.

Mrs Fish, who herself travelled to Lourdes in 1997 when she was a Holy Family Catholic School pupil, runs fitness sessions at both Sports Direct and Workouts gyms.

"I try to hold a charity event every year," she explained.

"Last year I did a nine-hour Zumbathon, which was for the fund for rugby player Danny Jones and also for Manorlands.

"I've also done a Zumbathon for Children in Need."

The event for Massabielle will run from 1pm to 3pm on March 18 in the main hall at Holy Family school.

Participants will be able to raise cash through a £20 entrance fee or through being sponsored. They can call 07887 598709 or e-mail angelafish@hotmail.co.uk to register to take part.

Mrs Fish will lead the two-hour event, supported by Melanie Watson and Donna Bilbrough.
